Be the Light that You Wish to See In the World

october2

Let’s be conscious of the light that we are to the world. These are important days.

As we move deeper into autumn our days get shorter and little by little we spend more of our waking hours in darkness. Just as we may light a candle in the center of our homes on dark winter days to bring a brightness and warmth, it’s helpful to be conscious of the light that we are to the world. The dark days of winter that we’re heading towards now are perhaps a good metaphor for the times that we are in the midst of in the evolution of our earth. And it is in these dark days that we become more conscious of the need to have light / fire around us … and within us. Many say that we are indeed all here at this time due to our commitment at the soul level to bring light into the world.

How do we light the fire within us? It is already lit. We are the breath of Spirit, born into form. It is this spark of the Divine light that gave us life. The great spiritual traditions teach that we are here on this journey called life on earth in order to remember that we are indeed light, to find our way back home, by learning to embody that light, and in so doing, light the way for ourselves and others. Our light is lit, our task is to bring our awareness to it by recognizing all the ways we help our own light shine. What fans your flames, increases your radiance, magnetizes your electricity? You may not have thought of it in these terms, but nevertheless you already know. Because it’s the same answer that you would give to the question what do you love or what makes your heart sing? Anything that gives you that sense of opening or expansion in your heart center, anything that makes you feel joyful, anything that makes you feel grounded deep in your bones, these are all things that brighten your light.

Our chakra system is an amazing tool we have at our disposal which helps us enhance the radiance of our light! Our chakras, or centers where subtle energy gathers in our bodies, are like sensitive gages that produce signals we can learn to sense, they give us feedback about how we’re doing / feeling. Listening and responding to the cues of our chakras teaches us to live in harmony with our greatest good. This is new for many of us, as we likely learned in childhood to ignore our inner cues and instead try and please others. In doing so, we turned off our natural receptivity to our inner cues, and instead began to rely on the arduous path of pleasing others and their response to us, or thinking our way through things using our reasoning mind alone. As you have most likely figured out by now, through your own journey of ups and downs along the way, neither of these is a very clear way to live a life of holistic health, ease and abundance! Listening to your inner cues, however, is a great way to live your best life.

Your chakra system is designed to walk you through an inner healing journey in which you re-awaken the energetic state of limitless possibilities that is your birth-right. Think of your chakra system as a staircase, each step leading to the next, guiding you from earth to heaven or heaven to earth depending on which direction you're going. Each step along the way offers unique healing on all levels of your being - body, mind, emotion and energy.

The first step is the root chakra where we heal our basic fears … fear of lack, of not belonging, of disconnection from source, of not wanting to be present in our bodies. As we breathe in light to this center, we breathe in presence of Spirit into this body, connection to body and to Mother Earth who holds and supports us here.

In the second chakra we cleanse our emotional body, releasing feelings of unworthiness, addictive tendencies we’ve learned to use to block emotional awareness and unhealthy sexuality. We breathe in light here, reclaiming … our sense of worth, comfort with our emotions, and loving awareness of our sensual nature.

In the third chakra we heal our sense of power, releasing fears of being powerful, tendencies to play it small, or abuse of power. As we breathe in light here we open to embracing ourselves as powerful beings who move through life in synchronicity.

In the fourth chakra we open to the awareness of our own divine nature … We become open to receiving love without condition and being lovable just as we are. As we release our sense of separateness and aloneness, and instead fully receive the loving support that guides us and nurtures us every step of the way. The heart center is our sacred garden, a beautiful and important place to visit regularly as this is the home of our Soul.

In the fifth chakra, we enliven our voice, learn to speak from our highest truth, and begin to open and let flow our spiritual gifts, expressing our higher nature. We reclaim our dreams and begin to speak from our higher self.

In the sixth chakra, we heal our inner knowing and reclaim our intuition and psychic abilities through releasing our inner critic. We shrink the voice of negativity within by paying less and less attention to it, It’s quite easy once you’ve done the work on healing and opening the lower chakras.

In the seventh chakra we heal all the fears and distortions that linger still, getting in the way of our opening to Source. Here we release any outdated religious beliefs that no longer serve our highest good, fears of being unworthy for God, and any distortions about God having human tendencies. We practice surrender of the lower will and open to endless support, guidance, and connection with Spiritual Beings who are here to light our path and lend us support.

(See previous blogs on The Chakras at sacredhealingjourney.com/blog for detailed information on each chakra and how to work with your chakras)

It’s easy to see how healing one chakra naturally lends support to healing the nearby energy centers. Example: Healing fears of being unworthy (second chakra) greatly eases the work of being in your healthy power (third chakra). Similarly, as you enliven the seventh chakra / Spiritual Connection, the work of releasing the inner critic in the sixth chakra becomes much easier. As we clear and heal all seven chakras, we open ourselves as a channel of flowing energy, with the highest vibration being that of pure light. When every energy center is open and flowing, light runs through us from heaven to earth, and from earth to heaven. In this way we are bringing healing energies to the earth, just as we are radiating light out, becoming a beacon for others much like a lighthouse for those lost at sea.

Let your light shine! As we learn to live in an emotionally healthy way, listening to our inner cues, and doing what increases our comfort, we naturally raise our vibration or frequency enhancing or brightening our light.

Blessings on your healing journey!

Much Love & Light, Lynn and Cheryl
