Commitment Statement

I am a social worker first and foremost, the clinical license came later, then meditation, mindfulness and energy healing all layered on top. Who I am, at the core of my being, is a social worker. And at the heart of social work is social justice, which has been gently threaded throughout the tapestry of my life and is at the heart of my work.

I am committed to meeting each client where they’re at, and honoring their journey.

  • The Divine Feminine is rising, these are the days of integrating higher energies into our daily lives. The Divine Mother is with us, holding space for our fears, offering a safe place to land, along with graceful guidance. The time is now for opening to the higher energies of trust & allow, let go and receive. Healing is happening within and around us: greater consciousness is accessible.

Please noted, when I say “Woman” centered, I am talking about people who are born as women, as well as people who identify as women.

  • Community is where your individual healing work comes together. Relationship is a container for growth and healing. Relationship is where we get beyond the ideal into the intricacies of the real. At SHJ we hold a higher consciousness around our sense of community which includes a high priority on safety, integration, and healing. Our intention is that community is a means of integrating the healing work you do in individual sessions. Community is a place in which you learn to show up in your vulnerability and be safe. Community is a place to be yourself without pretenses. Community is a place for healing and connecting.

  • At SHJ, we believe that all beings are created equal. All beings are here on a spiritual journey, and all beings are learning similar lessons in their own way, through the experiences of earth school. Compassion is the highest virtue. Equality matters, Black lives matter, Brown lives matter, Indigenous lives matter, immigrant and refugee lives matter; and everyone is welcome here.

Women Centered Philosophy

When I say the feminine I don’t mean gender. I mean the feminine principle that is living–or suppressed–in both men and women. The feminine principle attempts to relate. Instead of breaking things off into parts, it says, Where are we alike? How can we connect? Where is the love? Can you listen to me? Can you see me? ....The great work of our time is to bring the feminine into this culture."

Maiden

The healing quest of the maiden is twofold, discovering one’s innate power as well as defining one’s authentic self!

This is a turning towards one’s self in the midst of opening to the world… Balancing the outward exploration of this stage with inward exploration of the self. Important aspects of this exploration include…

  • uncovering and claiming one’s own agency, natural beauty, sexuality, gender, talents and gifts

  • choosing a direction to move in based on this awakening of one’s authenticity

  • beginning to notice and seek to remove obstacles within that are holding one back

Healing one’s personal trauma as well as exploring trauma in the family and ancestral lineage is a deep and meaningful dive at any stage of the journey. These days, I’m seeing plenty of younger women gently exploring these aspects as well.

_____________________________________

In our mainstream culture, void of ritual, there is little external guidance for integration of the self such as coming of age rites of passage.  Therefore we are often not doing this integration work in an organic timeline.  But it’s ok, we can do this healing work at any age and at any stage; and we can trust the process once we begin, to flow as it needs to.

Mother

The healing journey of motherhood is a deepening into one’s self.  It is in this deepening that we discover a wellspring of inner nourishment that is the hallmark of the Divine Feminine.  The journey of motherhood requires one to be nourished enough to support the nourishment of another.

Motherhood is a journey of deepening the exploration of one’s roots, matriarchal lineage, gaining new awareness and respect for the mothers that came before us; while simultaneously opening further to explore and gain insights around our personal wounding.  This is a journey of becoming, grounded in the self, with the support of mother earth, with the support of other women… It is a time in which we create community… we grow beyond ourselves… We heal not in isolation but together.

In motherhood we open to allowing… Allowing ourselves to trust, learning to be held and nurtured by other women, Mother Earth, Father Sky, the Divine Feminine, all beings, as well as the elemental nature of this world.   Motherhood brings us into greater connection with the rhythm of the natural world around us, and the energetic portals between the worlds of birthing and dying.

As we respond to the calling of motherhood we learn to open our hearts to allow for layers of healing… in this softening we come to know compassion… Compassion for ourselves, for each other, and for all beings fills us and flows outwards–imprinting our communities with the heart of compassion.

(Please note: “Motherhood” in this context is a psycho-spiritual phase of development that all women move through on their journey into wholeness; not limited to women who physically birth children).

The Crone

Each stage of life is precious, and each stage builds energetically from one to the next. Whatever work is incomplete in the previous stage(s) rolls into the next. The healing quest of the crone years is completion through integration and synthesis. In these years, beginning with menopause, the aging body gives way to allow a greater emphasis on the spiritual realm. While it's true that women may get sidetracked into chasing after eternal youth, there’s a growing movement towards embracing the natural rhythms of life, including the mystical beauty of the Crone years.

This is a time of embracing our innate wisdom, and honing our immense powers; which some might call magical, as indeed they are. Yet these powers stem from the simplest ways of being —present, grounded and connected, mindful and open.

In our current western culture there’s an enormous barrier to overcome at each stage of our journey in addition to the organic ones I’m outlining here, namely misogyny. Yet despite the obstacles, the energy of Divine Feminine is rising up from our roots, bubbling up within our energy fields, and streaming forth from higher energy sources supporting our evolution.

One of the biggest obstacles for myself as a Black American, when seeking a therapist, was the feeling of disconnect and a sense of embarrassment, that sometimes comes from feeling like an outsider in a white world. Lynn has been able to help me heal and grow because of her awareness of cultures and attention to detail. The impact of her ability to attune to her clients cannot be overstated. This has been an immense help in our work, and I believe it would translate to her work with anyone.

Community

  • “The healing work with Sacred Healing Journey is so unique, as it’s a powerful blend of individual and collective. In both realms, Lynn is able to hold safe and sacred space. I’ve been in a lot of communities, and most do not feel this safe—safety is such an essential feature of community.

Many of us have worked with Lynn individually and we know and trust her integrity. But it’s also the energy that she holds. It’s clear that Lynn has done her own work. As an energetic and empathic person myself, that matters more than almost anything. She never invites us into spaces that she hasn’t already traveled personally.

It never feels like she’s better than or beyond us, it’s more like she’s right there with us, holding space for us, and inviting our higher natures to hold space for ourselves and each other.

I think we all learn a lot from her (in these groups) that we don’t even always notice –it’s in the energy she holds and the way she gently guides, inviting us to embody our higher selves.”

*Suzanne co-taught Reiki I & II with Lynn, and together facilitated a Lunar Healing Ceremony Series in 2021

  • “Integration happened between my individual healing work and the groups that Lynn offered - meditation circle and mindfulness groups. Initially I felt terror at showing up to groups, yet they proved to be so helpful. I was scared, it was difficult to be seen, to speak up, to be heard. In the end I found that I really needed to share my story and have it heard… bringing up different parts of myself to hear my own voice saying it.

Naming my fears out loud in a group of women and being seen and heard and loved by them has been incredibly transformational.

It all happened gradually, organically as well, I just kept signing up for the next class or group that was offered, following my intuition.

Through the years with SHJ I’ve participated in The Mindfulness Class, You Are A Soul, Awakening the Healer Within, Reiki Master Class, the Chakra Workshops as well as being a regular member of the two meditation groups Lynn offers monthly –Community Meditation and the Mindfulness Group”.

*Jeanine has also co-taught The Mindfulness Class with Lynn, and together they developed a 5 week exploration of self compassion titled: The Compassionate Self

“As far as the community, I’ve participated in the Chakra Workshops and You are a Soul class with Lynn. These were phenomenal and life changing!!

Lynn sets up sacred space and I chose to open myself up and be vulnerable in this space for deeper understanding into my Soul and Light.

There has been healing of trauma in an amazing ways! Lynn holds safe space to work at whatever level you choose. She is intuitive and a wonderful healer.”

  • “Lynn and Sacred Healing Journey have been such a blessing to me. I feel like not only have I grown in tangible ways with everyday life but I have had so much growth in who I am on a soul level. I am so thankful that Lynn, along with the groups and classes at SHJ, have been there to help facilitate that process.”

“It’s hard to imagine where I would be, and what I would be doing without the healing work that I’ve done individually with Lynn, and collectively in the group experiences of Sacred Healing Journey. My experience has been phenomenal! Because of this inspiration, I’m in the midst of a career shift into social work, with the intention to become a therapist.

I have been so blessed to have found Lynn and to be a part of the Sacred Healing Journey community.”

“I first met Lynn when I was invited to attend the meditation group with a friend that Lynn co-hosted. I would say I was won over with the leading women, with how graceful, genuine, and passionate they were.

My healing has been impacted now by both the sense of community I experience at the Community Meditation with the women there, as well as having Lynn walk alongside with me in my individual healing journey.

Lynn has laughed with me, cried with me, handled my silliness, confusion, difficulties with acceptance, grief, and so much more. But more importantly she has helped me open my heart and work through my trauma. I am building myself up brick by brick and fixing the foundation of my life as I do that”.

“Before doing my healing work with Lynn, I was in a really dark place, not seeing any healing in sight. It’s not a stretch to say that my life has completely transformed.

I am so thankful not only for Lynn, but also for the community at Sacred Healing Journey. It’s amazing to be surrounded by a group of women that are all on this path to healing and growing. My experience has truly been a blessing”.

I am a lesbian and I felt accepted and not judged. Her abilities to help me see whatever the issues were and move beyond them is definitely a talent Lynn has.
